A True Liposomal Vitamin C, in Liquid Form
A vitamin C deficiency can have serious consequences on the human body. Liposomal Vitamin C is therefore a viable solution... However, the issue with liposome technology is that it is not regulated. Consequently, many Vitamin C products are marketed as liposomal but are not. They are often just simple mixtures of phosphatidylcholine and vitamin C.
To ensure it’s truly liposomal Vitamin C, it must be certified that:
- the liposomes are of consistent and appropriate size (not all are exactly the same size, and they must be sufficiently small). This measurement is taken using a particle size analyzer.
- the active ingredient is actually encapsulated within the liposomes,
- it has adequate preservation, retaining all product qualities over time.
Solage Guarantees True Liposomal Vitamin C: High Absorption and Perfect Stability
1 / Our liposomes are guaranteed to be between 80 nm and 180 nm in size. They have been measured using a particle size analyzer with laser diffraction.
This fine size ensures optimal passage through the small intestine without risk of saturation and enhanced stability after opening.
2 / Soy-free liposomes (therefore hormone-free) made from non-GMO sunflower phosphatidylcholine. Vitamin C is securely encapsulated within the liposomes.
3 / Verified and guaranteed preservation (1 year and two months after opening).
4 / Naturally sourced Vitamin C produced through fermentation.
5 / Our Liposomal Vitamin C has undergone a scientific study proving its superiority over standard natural Vitamin C and powdered (capsule) liposomal Vitamin C:
- Blood Vitamin C levels were 2.3 times higher after 3 hours and 3 times higher after 6 hours,
- Delayed release: Vitamin C is gradually released into the bloodstream throughout the day.
Within the Vitamin C family, there is also liposoluble Vitamin C. This capsule form allows for better control of daily intake.
Why Choose Solage Liposomal Vitamin C Over Other Liposomal Vitamin C Products?
We ensure genuine, natural Vitamin C:
Our natural Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is derived from non-GMO corn through fermentation. This non-synthetic Vitamin C retains its full antioxidant potential, with two electrons to neutralize free radicals, unlike other forms such as Ester-C.
We guarantee true liposomes under 180nm in size with consistent liposome size distribution: no mix of very small (low active ingredient) and very large liposomes (less absorbable).
We use phosphatidylcholine derived from non-GMO sunflower rather than soy, as in most other liposomal Vitamin C products. Soy-derived alternatives contain phytoestrogen residues (plant hormones that can interfere with the hormonal system).
Our Vitamin C has undergone scientific studies, comparing it to powdered ascorbic acid and powdered liposomal Vitamin C, verifying its superior bioavailability.
We do not use potassium sorbate as a preservative but rather a natural extract of sea buckthorn.
Why Should Liposomal Vitamin C Be in Liquid Form?
This might be a bit technical, but in essence, the liposome structure cannot remain intact without the presence of water. Here’s why:
A liposome’s purpose is to encapsulate an active ingredient (here, Vitamin C) within a nanoscale sphere made of a double layer of phospholipids.
These phospholipids have a hydrophilic side and a hydrophobic (lipophilic) side. Because it’s a double layer, the inside and outside of the liposome are hydrophobic (or lipophilic).
Since oil and water don’t mix, phospholipids, when in water, naturally form these small spheres called liposomes.
Thus, it’s the presence of water around the liposome that enables the phospholipids to form these spheres. Without water, the phospholipids lose the "motivation" to form these structures (liposomes).
They then release their contents.
So instead of having Vitamin C liposomes, you get a mix of phospholipids and Vitamin C.
While this mixture isn’t harmful, it’s no more effective than standard Vitamin C.
Ingredients for 10mL (recommended daily dose)
- Purified water
- Vitamin C: 1000 mg (1250% RDA)
of which 1000 mg sodium ascorbate
- Vegan glycerol
- Natural orange and vanilla flavors
- Natural sea buckthorn extract
RDA: Recommended Daily Allowance
For 1000 mg of Vitamin C
- 10 mL per day, using the measuring cup, which is about two teaspoons, preferably in the morning before breakfast or lunch.
Liposomal Vitamin C can be taken directly or mixed with water or fruit juice (avoid hot drinks).
It is recommended to shake the bottle before use, store it in the refrigerator after opening, and consume it within two months (beyond this, it's not dangerous, but the liposomes may lose quality).
Vitamin C increases iron absorption. Avoid prolonged consumption if ferritin levels are above 80 ng/mL.
When to Take Liposomal Vitamin C?
- To boost energy by helping reduce fatigue
- To combat free radicals and oxidative stress with its antioxidant power
- Vitamin C supports a healthy immune system
- Essential for natural collagen production (joints, skin, etc.)
- Enhances iron absorption
Comparison of Bioavailability Between Powdered Vitamin C and Solage Liposomal Vitamin C
In a randomized study with 20 participants (men and women) aged between 20 and 50, two groups were formed.
The first group received a daily dose of 1000 mg of powdered Vitamin C (ascorbic acid), while the second group received 1000 mg per day of Solage Liposomal Vitamin C.
Blood plasma concentrations (Vitamin C available in the blood) were measured after 1 hour, 3 hours, and 6 hours using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
The study concluded with a significant difference in blood Vitamin C levels (p<0.05) between powdered Vitamin C and Solage Liposomal Vitamin C (see graph below).
Difference in blood plasma Vitamin C concentration between Solage Liposomal Vitamin C and standard Vitamin C.
Comparing Bioavailability Across Various Forms of Liposomal Vitamin C: Powder and Liquid
A new study compared the bioavailability of different forms of Vitamin C:
- Standard powdered Vitamin C, non-liposomal (NL)
- Liposomal Vitamin C in capsule form (powder) (PL)
- Competing liposomal Vitamin C (origin Netherlands) (LLB)
- Solage liquid liposomal Vitamin C (LLA)
In this randomized study, four groups of participants (men and women) aged 20-50 each received one of the forms for testing.
Blood samples were collected before the test and then at 2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24 hours post-supplementation.
Samples were microcentrifuged, cooled to 2°C, and analyzed for ascorbic acid (AA) using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
The conclusion of this study is quite clear: liposomal Vitamin C in capsule form is ineffective!
- Liposomal Vitamin C in powder form (gray curve - PL) does not show better results than standard Vitamin C (yellow curve - NL).
In fact, liposomal Vitamin C powder was slightly less effective than standard Vitamin C, although not statistically significant.
- Solage liquid liposomal Vitamin C (blue curve - LLA) shows a much better bioavailability than other forms, including the competing liquid liposomal Vitamin C (orange curve - LLB). However, this superiority of Solage Vitamin C is only evident starting 10 hours after ingestion.
Liposome Size in Solage Vitamin C Certified with a Particle Size Analyzer
Most Solage liposomes are around 80nm in size, an ideal size—large enough to contain the active ingredient effectively, yet small enough to pass through the intestinal barrier efficiently and maintain perfect stability.

Solage recommends:
- Most of our nutrients come from France or Europe (local is a priority), except when we can't do otherwise (for curcuma, for example). We never choose ingredients from places or countries where quality is not assured and workers are poorly paid.
- Solage products are designed in France and manufactured according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards from the pharmaceutical industry and the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) method, developed by NASA.
Both methods implement procedures, documents and controls to guarantee perfect traceability and the absence of biological or chemical contamination.
- Solage is a French company, and its products are registered with the relevant authorities.
Solage products are safe, with no bad surprises.
To answer this question, we distinguish between three types of product, depending on their nature and intended purpose:
1/ Ideally taken as a continuous treatment: those which compensate for a nutritional or age-related deficiency, and which serve to restore the body's functions without altering its normal metabolism.
- Common nutritional deficiencies: marine omega-3, vitamin C, magnesium, vitamin D between October and May
- Age-related or pathological deficiencies: Ubiquinol, Glutathione, Iron, Collagen (type I and II)
- To help the body deal with underlying problems: Saffron, Ashwagandha, Men's and women's urinary comfort, cholesterol
2/ To be taken in a cure, but where a break is not necessarily necessary if you or your healthcare professional find it useful:
Detox: Milk thistle, Glutathione
Digestion: Probiotics
3/ Products where a break is useful:
- Curcumin: at least a break of a few days between each box, as it modifies metabolic pathways in the body
- Echinacea (immunity): a break of a few days between each box so as not to over-stimulate the immune system
- Melatonin: avoid taking it every day over the long term, so as not to habituate the body.
In all cases, it's important to remember that the products we offer are genuinely active, that it's important to respect dosage and that they are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
This will of course depend on the product and your physiological state.
It's worth remembering that physiology is a long-term process, and that it generally takes two to three months, sometimes longer, to achieve a profound change.
However, the feeling is generally quicker, between 15 days and two months. It is then necessary to continue to try to fix these initial results in greater depth.
However, this will be much quicker with subsequent products:
- Melatonin and sublingual GABA, which have a very rapid onset of action (between two minutes and 30 minutes)
- Probiotics (48 hours to two weeks))
