A Truly Absorbable Vegan Vitamin D3 + K2-MK7
The issue with standard vegan Vitamin D3 is its low bioavailability compared to lanolin-derived options.
With Solage’s use of liquid liposome technology, this formula offers exceptional bioavailability: +1284% for Vitamin D3 and +3700% for Vitamin K2 (see the scientific information section for more details).
Easy to take daily with its natural vanilla and blood orange flavors, this vitamin duo primarily works to strengthen the body’s skeletal structure by aiding calcium absorption.
This vitamin pair goes beyond bone health, helping to boost overall immunity, support cardiovascular health, and contribute positively to mental well-being.
With 1000 IU (5ml) for daily intake, a regimen with Vitamin D3 and K2-MK7 provides a scientifically proven solution that is both effective and enduring.
Vegan Vitamin D3
Also known as cholecalciferol, Vitamin D3 has dual origins: it can come from food sources (such as sardines, egg yolks, butter, cheese) or be synthesized by the body through the action of sunlight (UVB rays) on the skin.
In the body, this vitamin serves two main functions: ensuring optimal mineralization of mineralized tissues, such as bones, cartilage, and teeth (1), and maintaining plasma levels of calcium and phosphorus (2).
Most dietary supplements use animal-derived Vitamin D3, extracted from lanolin (3), a natural wax found in sheep or lamb wool. Vegan Vitamin D3 also exists, sourced from marine algae.
This vegan Vitamin D3 is featured in Solage’s product. This 100% natural alternative is usually less absorbable than animal-based Vitamin D3, but with the liposomal form used in the product, it becomes more effective and bioavailable.
A real asset for bone health, numerous studies have been conducted on this vitamin to scientifically demonstrate its benefits (see scientific information section).
One example is a comprehensive review (4) exploring the relationship between Vitamin D and calcium. After thorough, extended analysis, it was concluded that Vitamin D has several overall health advantages: prevention of autoimmune diseases, reduced cancer risk, fall prevention, improved immunity, and proper mineralization of bones, joints, and teeth.
Vitamin K2-MK7
Often called menaquinone, Vitamin K2 is primarily found in the human digestive tract. Specifically, it’s absorbed in the small intestine, like dietary fats, and transported in the bloodstream via chylomicrons (lipoproteins formed during digestion).
A unique feature of the Vitamin K2 used in Solage’s product is that it’s K2-MK7. This form, menaquinone-7 (MK-7), is more effective and non-toxic (5), enhancing the production of osteocalcin (6), a protein that synthesizes and mineralizes bone matrix during skeletal growth. Generally, MK7 fights bone loss and reduces fracture risk.
Virtually absent from our diet, Vitamin K2 is produced through fermentation, meaning it’s created by bacteria. A purely natural vitamin, it’s a natural remedy against calcifications (7) and offers protective benefits for the cardiovascular system. Essential for human bone metabolism (8), Vitamin K2-MK7 is also highly beneficial for both bone and cardiovascular health (9).
These virtues have been demonstrated in various scientific studies (see scientific information section). A prime example is a November 2020 study examining the effects of Vitamin K2 (MK7) on cardiovascular and bone diseases in dialysis patients (10).
In this study, with a daily dose of 360 micrograms of Vitamin K2, scientists observed changes in arterial stiffness and bone mineral density, noting positive shifts in the lumbar spine, hip, and overall body structure.
Why choose this vitamin combination over other products?
To begin with, this vitamin combination is designed for the general population, making it suitable for everyone and supporting bone health effectively. But what truly sets this formula apart are its unique features:
⇒ The liposomal (liquid) formula has a significantly higher bioavailability and absorption rate than standard formulas.
⇒ The D3 vitamin used here is vegan, sourced from marine algae, distinguishing it from other products that rely on animal-derived D3.
⇒ The K2 MK-7 vitamin is a stable, highly bioavailable form of K2 that helps maintain healthy bones.
⇒ The combination of D3 and K2 vitamins ensures enhanced bone strength, reducing the risk of fractures or bone tissue deterioration.
⇒ D3 supports cardiovascular function and promotes a healthy inflammatory response.
⇒ D3 influences serotonin synthesis and regulation (the “happiness hormone”), giving a natural mood boost.
⇒ D3 enhances overall muscle strength and immune system resilience.
⇒ K2 contributes to vascular health.
⇒ K2 naturally aids in preventing arterial calcification.

Comparison of the Bioavailability of Liquid Liposomal Vitamin D3 + K2-MK7 and Vitamin D3 + K2-MK7 Tablets
Study Objectives and Methodology
This study aimed to compare the bioavailability of liposomal Vitamin D3 + K2-MK7 to that of a standard tablet form.
A randomized study was conducted with 20 participants aged 20 to 50, all without underlying health conditions.
One group received a liposomal dose containing 1000 IU of Vitamin D3 and 200µg of Vitamin K2-MK7, while the other group received the same dosage in tablet form.
Blood samples were taken before intake (B0), then at 120, 240, and 360 minutes post-administration.
The blood was centrifuged, cooled, and then analyzed to measure levels of Vitamin K2-MK7 in the plasma and Vitamin D (25-hydroxy vitamin D) in the serum.
Pharmacokinetic parameters were studied, including the maximum concentration (Cmax) of vitamins in the blood and the time to reach this peak concentration (Tmax).
Study Results for Vitamin D3 Comparison
The results showed two significant points for the bioavailability of liposomal Vitamin D3.
1/ Absorption was 12.84 times (1284%) higher in the liposomal form compared to tablets.
2/ Prolonged Effects of Liposomal Vitamin D3: The tablet form increased blood levels up to 240 minutes post-intake, then levels dropped back to baseline. In contrast, the liposomal form significantly increased blood levels from 120 minutes and maintained a gradual increase up to 6 hours. This indicates a sustained release of Vitamin D3 in the bloodstream.

Study Results for Vitamin K2-MK7 Comparison
Similarly, two encouraging results were observed for the bioavailability of liposomal Vitamin K2-MK7.
1/ Absorption was 37 times (3700%) higher in the liposomal form of K2-MK7 compared to tablets.
2/ While liposomal Vitamin K2-MK7 significantly increased plasma levels, tablet Vitamin K2 was barely absorbed.
Which Vitamin D3 is Best?
Bioavailability Comparison of Different Forms of Vitamin D3 Supplements
To compare Vitamin D3 supplements, we look at daily dosages and the form (galenic form): in addition to liposomal, there are oil-based forms (with various oils), tablets (with various excipients), and gummies.
For each supplement, Cmax (maximum blood concentration of Vitamin D3) and Tmax (time to reach this concentration) were studied.
Study | Form | IU per Dose | Cmax (ng/mL) | Tmax (hours) |
---|---|---|---|---|
Liposome vs. Tablet | Liposome | 1000 | 52.9 | 6 |
Tablet | 1000 | 25.6 | 4 | |
Wagner et al. (2019) | Gummies | 20,000 | 47.3 | 9.7 |
Tablet | 20,000 | 23.4 | 9.5 |
Even at a low dose (1000 IU), meaning 20 to 66 times lower than other products, liposomal Vitamin D achieves the highest Cmax, surpassing high-dose, high-absorption forms.
This suggests that liposomal Vitamin D is the best form for maintaining high, steady blood levels of Vitamin D.

Solage recommends:
- Most of our nutrients come from France or Europe (local is a priority), except when we can't do otherwise (for curcuma, for example). We never choose ingredients from places or countries where quality is not assured and workers are poorly paid.
- Solage products are designed in France and manufactured according to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards from the pharmaceutical industry and the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) method, developed by NASA.
Both methods implement procedures, documents and controls to guarantee perfect traceability and the absence of biological or chemical contamination.
- Solage is a French company, and its products are registered with the relevant authorities.
Solage products are safe, with no bad surprises.
To answer this question, we distinguish between three types of product, depending on their nature and intended purpose:
1/ Ideally taken as a continuous treatment: those which compensate for a nutritional or age-related deficiency, and which serve to restore the body's functions without altering its normal metabolism.
- Common nutritional deficiencies: marine omega-3, vitamin C, magnesium, vitamin D between October and May
- Age-related or pathological deficiencies: Ubiquinol, Glutathione, Iron, Collagen (type I and II)
- To help the body deal with underlying problems: Saffron, Ashwagandha, Men's and women's urinary comfort, cholesterol
2/ To be taken in a cure, but where a break is not necessarily necessary if you or your healthcare professional find it useful:
Detox: Milk thistle, Glutathione
Digestion: Probiotics
3/ Products where a break is useful:
- Curcumin: at least a break of a few days between each box, as it modifies metabolic pathways in the body
- Echinacea (immunity): a break of a few days between each box so as not to over-stimulate the immune system
- Melatonin: avoid taking it every day over the long term, so as not to habituate the body.
In all cases, it's important to remember that the products we offer are genuinely active, that it's important to respect dosage and that they are not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
This will of course depend on the product and your physiological state.
It's worth remembering that physiology is a long-term process, and that it generally takes two to three months, sometimes longer, to achieve a profound change.
However, the feeling is generally quicker, between 15 days and two months. It is then necessary to continue to try to fix these initial results in greater depth.
However, this will be much quicker with subsequent products:
- Melatonin and sublingual GABA, which have a very rapid onset of action (between two minutes and 30 minutes)
- Probiotics (48 hours to two weeks))
Please refer to the “Scientific studies” section of this product page, where you'll find most studies on bioavailability and medium-term effects.
